Bathroom Ceiling Lights

As one of the main rooms of the house, the quality of bathroom lighting is very important. This does not mean however that you have to forgo form in favour of function. Premium lighting retailer Geoffrey Harris sells a variety of light fixtures suitable for the modern bathroom, from a range of esteemed designers. The shop is based in Battersea, London and the products are also available to view and order online.

In order to achieve a well-lit bathroom, you first need a general (or ambient) light source. Task lights, such as mirror lights and shower lights, can be added later to create a technique the design pros call “light layering”. The most important light fixture however is the ceiling light. With so many stylish yet affordable designs available, there is no need for unsightly incandescent bulbs or dated fixtures.

Spotlights such as the Como triple headed ceiling light are a winning choice for the bathroom ceiling. The light bulbs face different directions to ease reflection off ceramic surfaces and minimise the kind of glare that recessed lights can create.  There is nothing worse than a harsh clinical light first thing in the morning after all. In the Como collection there is also the Como triple round (similar but on a spherical mount rather than a rectangular one) and the single como spotlight. The latter is a good choice for a single W.C or as a task light over a mirror.

The Zeppo ceiling light (also available from Geoffrey Harris) is an alternative design, but as versatile as the Como. Its elegant orb-like shape is made from white opal glass and it diffuses a soft serene light (but vibrant enough to carry out everyday tasks) across the room. It can be fitted with a dimmer too, so adding a Zeppo is a simple way to create an ambient bathroom space. It is the perfect light fitting to mount over a relaxing bathtub, and would complement most design schemes.

There are more bathroom ceiling lights to choose from at Geoffrey Harris Lighting.  Browse online at www.geoffreyharris.co.uk or visit their store in Battersea, London.
