them are gone now and I am happy to see them once in a year. Daffodil is the common name of the Narcissus flowering plant. They are bulbous plants and are winter hard. They always bloom flowers every spring time. It feels like a therapy for my body and spirit everytime I see them blooming in our garden. Truly such a beauty of nature!

These daffodils are from our garden and was captured last April 2012.

All Narcissus species have a central bell-, bowl-, or disc-shaped corona surrounded by a ring of six floral leaves called the perianth which is united into a tube at the forward edge of the 3-locular ovary. The seeds are black, round and swollen with a hard coat. The three outer segments are sepals, and the three inner segments are petals. Though the traditional daffodil of folklore, poetry, and field may have a yellow to golden-yellow color all over, both in the wild species and due to breeding, the perianth and corona may be variously colored. Breeders have developed some daffodils with double, triple, or ambiguously multiple rows and layers of segments, and several wild species also have known double variants. wikipedia

Spring Time is Garden Time

Spring time is truly garden time for me but sad to say, it is still very cold outside. I went this morning in our garden to check some flowers and I am happy to see that a lot of tulips and other flowers are already blooming. I want to do a bit cleaning and planting but decided not to staty too long because it breeze is still cold. I don't want to get sick only for this reason. I can wait until the weather will be nicer and friendlier in the coming days or weeks.

Spring time is just one of my favorite seasons of the year! Here are some of the few blooms from our garden.

these tulips always love to come back every year. These are the first ones that bloomed in our garden since almost three weeks ago.

I love the color of this viola flowers. The calendar in front of me says that spring in Germany officially starts on March 20 this year. I went outside our garden today to look for the first blooms of the flowers. I already saw a lot. One of it are the tulip flowers. Hyacinths, violas and the little white wild flowers are also blooming. It makes me happy again to see the beauty of nature in our garden. I love it!

One of the first tulips in our garden.

I Love These Orange Daisies or Asteraceae

I am quite familiar with these flowers because our neighbor before had a lot of these in her garden. I also had a schoolmate whose name is Daisy. Thats is why this flower is known to me. It belongs to the family of Asteraceae or Compositae, commonly referred to as daisy, aster or sunflower family. It is said to be one of the most largest flowering plant families in the world.

I planted these flowers in our garden before but it is not coming back after winter. There are wild ones that I can see in our garden flowering at the moment. Spring time is here and I already see a lot of them.

Daisy roots are usually taproots, and sometimes fibrous. Stems are generally erect, but sometimes prostrate to ascending. Some species have underground stems in the form of caudices or rhizomes, these can be fleshy or woody depending on the species. I heard today over the radio weather forecast that the temperature in our area will be milder. They also mentioned that on Thursday, we will have up to 18 degrees Celsius temperature. Spring is almost coming. This is the time of the year where the tulips, narcissus or daffodils will start to grow and bloom in our garden.

Sad to say, I can't see the process of blooming of these flowers because I will be away for a 6-weeks trip to Spain starting March 11, 2012. I believed I will see some of the flowers when I come back in April. If not, I will also see some of these flowers in Spain.

Here are some of the narcissus or daffodils from our garden. This was taken last spring 2011.

You can also see the white flowers of our cherry tree. For now you cannot see any flowers outside because it is winter season. When spring comes, I know I will be seeing again some flowers especially the tulips. I planted more last autumn time and can't wait to see it. Our garden will also have a new look this year because we did some changes in it.

You can here some roses, cosmos, gumamela or hibiscus, poppy peridot, gladiola, lavender and many many more.

a part of our garden taken last year.

Red Geranium, Pink Roses and What's the Yellow One?

It seems that the weather today is not so friendly. I heard over the radio that the streets and highways in Bavaria, Germany were very icy and slippery this morning, thus caused some car accidents to some drivers. Be careful especially to my friends around in Bavaria.

I found again some flowers in my External Hard Drive. I know I have lot of them especially the ones taken from our garden. I just have a bit difficulty in trying to find it in my EHD because until now I still don't have the time to arrange my flower files. I know one day I can find time to fix and arrange my picture files.

Here are some flowers from our garden. I hope to see them again in summer. I need to plant the others again because they won't come back after winter time like the red Geranium here.

red Geranium in our garden from last summer.

I guess this flower belongs to Asteraceae or Compositae family...it has two visitors at the same time.

Pink rose looking on the cloudy day..will see them again this spring time!

Visit these wonderful memes; Macro Flowers–Saturday, Flowers on Saturday, NF Macro, Macro Friday, Pink Fridays, Pink Saturdays, Today's Flowers, Macro Monday, Mellow yellow, and Ruby Tuesday2. Gerbera was named in honour of the German botanist and naturalist Traugott Gerber. It is commonly known as the African Daisy. I bought these flowers and planted in our garden but it won't last during winter time. After that I never buy it anymore. Sometimes when I visit the garden center, I just take images of it. The ones you see below were taken during one of my visits in the garden center. I am glad that the gardener let me took some photos.

I wish every one a happy weekend..Be safe always!

Gerbera species bear a large capitulum with striking, two-lipped ray florets in yellow, orange, white, pink or red colours.

Gerbera is very popular and widely used as a decorative garden plant or as cut flowers.

Visit these wonderful memes; Macro Flowers–Saturday, Flowers on Saturday, NF Macro, Macro Friday, Pink Fridays, Pink Saturdays, Today's Flowers, Macro Monday, Mellow yellow, and Ruby Tuesday2. Yes, she is. She had a vacation in Spain last time, the holiday season, some tasks online and offline and so many things that she is taking care of. She has finally the chance to update this blog.

Here are some dahlias from our garden last summer. I love these flowers and can't wait to see them again next year.

I also hope that everyone had a wonderful and memorable Christmas. However their tuberous nature enables them to survive periods of dormancy, and this characteristic means that gardeners in temperate climates with frosts can grow dahlias successfully, provided the tubers are lifted from the ground and stored in cool yet frost-free conditions during the winter.

Visit these wonderful memes; Today's Flowers, Macro Monday, Mellow yellow, and Ruby Tuesday. There are at least 36 species of dahlia, some like D. imperialis up to 10 metres tall. Dahlia hybrids are commonly grown as garden plants. The Aztecs gathered and cultivated the dahlia for food, ceremonies, as well as decorative purposes, and the long woody stem of one variety was used for small pipes.

Dahlias are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Angle Shades, Common Swift, Ghost Moth and Large Yellow Underwing. wikipedia.

the beautiful dahlia in our garden. sad to say, it did not survive the last cold winter.

Wet Gladiola in Our Garden

Here comes the rain,
and make our garden wet.
All the plants are happy,
As the rainwater drops.

taken last summer 2010 in our garden....guess i am always late in posting but better than nothing..love this plant..

Gladiolus (from Latin, the diminutive of gladius, a sword) is a genus of perennial bulbous flowering plants in the iris family (Iridaceae).
