Kitchen Renovation Finally Begins

There is chaos in the house!   Some things are scattering  around the house especially in our kitchen.  At least, I already started to gather them and put temporarily elsewhere.  We are   starting to renovate our kitchen now.   The  handyman in the house started it since the other weekend.  The old and dilapidated kitchen is finally dismantled. The old rotten wooden floor was also taken off. (more…)

Spring Time is Garden Time!

It was a beautiful day we had today. The sun was shining and it is not so cold anymore. As the sun goes down this afternoon, it started to get chilly but it was fine. Spring season is finally here! This means that it is time for me to start gardening again. It is good to know that even if I did not take care of some plants, Mother Nature always reminds the tulips, crocus, daffodils and hyacinths to grow and bloom every spring time.

Crocus are always the first flowers that bloom during spring time.

There are a lot of projects line up for our home and garden this year. I hope that we can already start making some water fountains garden this year. It is a wish that I long to come true. I always love seeing fountains and I hope we can also have it somewhere in our garden. (more…)

Hyacinths, Crocus and Tulips are Flowering Now

It is finally spring time! Spring flowers like crocus, hyacinths and tulips are starting to bloom now in our garden.  The weather is getting better the  past days and  we are also having some sunny days as well. The plants and flowers in our garden are loving it. I am happy to see the  flowers that first bloom in our garden. How happy I am to see these flowers again!

I will be more pictures soon if all the tulips are on full bloom. I am simply loving spring time! How about you?

Understanding Home Equity

I believed many of you especially home owners out there know what home equity means. If you are quite not familiar about it, you can find a lot of information online about this subject. Feel free to also browse Aviva for more help about this topic. More on that, they can also help you with some financial topics such as home equity loans, insurance, savings and investments and pensions and retirement.

Let me continue with my main topic. Here is a very concrete example of a home equity.  I believed I can share a  bit about this since I am also a commerce graduate majoring in accounting, and had worked  in one of the biggest financial institution back home in the Philippines. For example Mr. and Mrs. ABC bought a home  in 2001  for $500,000, payable in 20 years with a downpayment of  10%.   It means  at the moment, they already paid 12 years of  their mortgage. The amount of loan they availed last 2001  decreases because they have been paying it for 12 years now,  plus the downpayment they made for $50,000.  This also means that  the  property’s equity increases as the debtor, Mr. and Mrs. ABC make  payments against the mortgage balance, thus,  the property value appreciates. Where is Spring Weather?

What happen to our spring weather? I thought when I came back from my  Ireland trip, the weather is friendlier in our place.  It is cold  outside and you still need to wear winter jacket. Before I left for my Ireland trip, I already saw some crocus  blooming in our garden. The tulip flowers also started to sprout and grow.  Since I came back home from  my Ireland trip, I still did not have the chance to take a glimpse again of what is happening in our garden  outside.

I just hope that the weather will become more friendly   in the coming days.  I want to start   gardening again. I already bought some flowers for planting both in the flowers pots and in the garden soil.  I know for sure, there are a lot of things to be done again when the right spring weather will start. Another Party This Weekend!

It’s almost party time! I received a message from a friend that her daughter will be celebrating her birthday this weekend. For sure, she will prepare a lot of food again like what she always do when hosting a party. Another thing I am very sure of, there will be a karaoke singing again. I would love to introduce to my friend a recording mic. I am quite not so sure if she is familiar with it. I know she just bought two new microphones but not with a recording function.

I am quite excited for the party this weekend. Thanks dear friend for the invitation.  Talk to you all soon. Time to prepare for dinner!

The Chimney Man Visited Us Today

I heard him knocking at  our door yesterday. When I go down to open the door, he was already  away. The Chimney Man was wearing all black  clothes.  When we checked our mailbox, he left a note that he will be backed the next day. He wrote at 9:00 in the morning, he will be knocking on our door again.

I have no choice but to wake-up  earlier this morning.  I usually wake-up around nine in the morning if I go to sleep late or have a lot of online tasks to do. This morning I made it at  7:00. That was also good because I already started with the laundry. At exactly 9:00 Am, I already saw the vehicle of the  Chimney man  parking  outside. I just waited for  him to knock on the door before I open it. (more…)

Bathroom Ceiling Lights

As one of the main rooms of the house, the quality of bathroom lighting is very important. This does not mean however that you have to forgo form in favour of function. Premium lighting retailer Geoffrey Harris sells a variety of light fixtures suitable for the modern bathroom, from a range of esteemed designers. The shop is based in Battersea, London and the products are also available to view and order online.

In order to achieve a well-lit bathroom, you first need a general (or ambient) light source. Task lights, such as mirror lights and shower lights, can be added later to create a technique the design pros call “light layering”. The most important light fixture however is the ceiling light. With so many stylish yet affordable designs available, there is no need for unsightly incandescent bulbs or dated fixtures. (more…)

Ways to Stay Disciplined When Working From Home

I am a working at home individual since four years now. A former banker who is now a blogger who loves to share her personal experiences, thoughts and opinions to the world. I find more freedom being a blogger because I can work anytime I want and I can go anywhere without asking to my boss that I need a break or holiday. Thanks to all pr jobs online where I am given the opportunity to be a boss of my own.

Working from home requires discipline and a certain mind-set. Distractions can get the better of you if you allow them to. Children in the house, a constant ringing phone from friends can get your mind off your work real fast.

1) Have a System

It is important that you have a system that makes you productive. Set aside time every day searching for additional work. Have a routine on handling paper flow. To be productive you must be organized. Once you have a system in place, stick to it. Sort out your office furniture so that it is conducive to your work – well placed, with enough space, light and a comfortable chair. Thanks to the tilted and turn windows in my computer room where I can breath fresh air and look around. (more…)
