Yes, I finally did it! I did had the chance to harvest for the first time some lavender flowers from our garden. Also known as Lavandula angustifolia, it is a flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae. I actually did the harvesting the other week. I would like to make little lavender pillow cases for our cabinet clothing. I heard somewhere that dried lavender flowers and lavender essential oil are also used as a prevention against clothing moths, which do not like their scent.
I also use lavender as decoration. These are some of the lavender in ceramic vases.

The realization that the world is consuming resources at an alarming rate has led to an awakening and the spread of the green revolution. Not too long ago, only a handful of people were concerned about using eco-friendly and sustainably produced products. The story is different today because the improvement of information channels has led to the world being very connected and whatever happens in one corner of the world has an impact on the other end of the globe. Teak wood furniture production has raised a lot of concern from environmental groups and consumers regarding the sustainability of its production process. With a high demand due to its superior performance and quality, teak wood is considered as one of the best furniture materials. In case you are thinking of purchasing a wooden bed, wardrobes and any other home furniture, teak is your best option.

After the doom and gloom of the recession and the property market crash over the last few years, many people are choosing to improve their own homes rather than move out. If you still love your home but feel you need a bit more room, then moving isn’t the only option.
An additional room can make the world of difference to the dynamics of your home, even by adding just a few square metres and altering the layout of your existing living space, you can change the practical usage of your house, making it a pleasant, clutter-free place to be. (more…)

How’s everyone and how was your first days of August? I hope you are having a wonderful one! After almost two weeks of escapades, I am finally back to reality. Trip is over and now I have to take care of so many things and chores at home. It also means that I need to go back to garden work as well. My garden looks terrible at the moment. Some plants are dying as we were away from vacation. Some are still surviving and thanks goodness for that.

OOppss!! It seems that I am talking about food and party again. I have to admit, I love having fun with friends and I love partying. Don’t worry, I did not try a single beer or alcohol tonight. Party for us don’t really mean drinking but it means yummy and sumptuous food and most of all fun with friends! I only drink occasionally and moderately..yay….tell it to the moon!

Sumptuous and delicious food during a friend’s birthday party today!

It was a fun evening ended! Although I am quite sad that some good friends are leaving already, I am still glad at the same time knowing people who became good friends of mine. We threw a farewell party last Saturday to our friend who is leaving our area. They will be station to other country. I am glad to know that they arrived safely in their new home last Friday. Good luck to my friends in their new home!

Thanks to all friends who shared their time and effort during that party! Well done ladies!

Is this the result of global warming? I believed most of you knows about this issue. Yes, this is the current issue planet earth is facing at the moment. Isn’t this the result of human’s activities such as deforestation, too much burning of fossil fuels and other acts that caused global warming? We must slowly act to help save our planet!

Contrary to what some people may believe, eco or ‘green’ products needn’t be cumbersome, expensive and stressful to install. In fact, there are plenty of nifty everyday eco gadgets on the market which are just as efficient as their energy-guzzling counterparts. Here are a few products – ranging from the affordable to the slightly flash – which all illustrate this point.

Home improvements and repairs are currently going. I guess this is a long term project. There are still a lot of rooms to be repaired and other things to be improved in our home. From time to time, things get better. When finances are available, we do some home renovation every year. This is better as spending money on useless things. I guess, you know what I mean about it. We don’t have vices like drinking alcohol and smoking. We better spend the money on home improvements.

Contemporary-style homes have, over the years, become a crowd favorite. Their sleek, minimalistic charm has proven to be more than just an aesthetic plus, but also a giant when it comes to functionality.
The lack of detail and intricacy in contemporary home design does not necessarily mean absence of style. But the thing about it is that it does not require too many elements — which can be both a good and bad thing.
